About the Artwork: The second installation of the Muskingum County Infirmary, ca 1898, on Newark Road in Zanesville, Ohio. This version was built after an 1860 fire destroyed the original.

Meet the Artist: For Dawn, Art isn’t simply a creative outlet, but a way to capture lived experience. Most of her architectural works are of locations that she has visited and experienced. She works to not simply capture the likeness of the location, but the spirit and mood of the place as well. With her landscape works, she tries to create an environment that the viewer can imagine themselves inhabiting: feeling the sand between the toes and the sound of the waves of a seascape, smelling the flowers or hearing the birds within a country landscape.
