About the Artwork: The historic Fairfield County Infirmary also known as the Fairfield County Poorhouse, housed the impoverished as well as the physically and mentally ill. Numerous deaths occurred there and it is reported to be one of the most haunted places in Ohio.
Meet the Artist: For Dawn, Art isn’t simply a creative outlet, but a way to capture lived experience. Most of her architectural works are of locations that she has visited and experienced. She works to not simply capture the likeness of the location, but the spirit and mood of the place as well. With her landscape works, she tries to create an environment that the viewer can imagine themselves inhabiting: feeling the sand between the toes and the sound of the waves of a seascape, smelling the flowers or hearing the birds within a country landscape.
