About the Artwork: The Civil War Farmhouse at Billie Creek Village was built by Evan Stokes in Parke County, Indiana during the Civil War Era.
Meet the Artist: For Dawn, Art isn’t simply a creative outlet, but a way to capture lived experience. Most of her architectural works are of locations that she has visited and experienced. She works to not simply capture the likeness of the location, but the spirit and mood of the place as well. With her landscape works, she tries to create an environment that the viewer can imagine themselves inhabiting: feeling the sand between the toes and the sound of the waves of a seascape, smelling the flowers or hearing the birds within a country landscape.
