Allison Weeks

From the Artist:
My name is Allison Weeks, and I am an oil and acrylic painter. Although I always loved art growing up, I never truly tried my hand at painting until later in life—quite by accident. What began as a creative experiment quickly turned into a passion that completely captured me.

I first began by teaching simple paint parties and quickly discovered how much joy painting brought me. My son noticed how happy it made me and encouraged me to try painting a photograph he had taken of Lake Tahoe during one of his trips. Then he asked me to paint his dog. Soon after, my daughter asked for a portrait of her dog… and then I painted my own dog. At that point, I was completely hooked.

Today, I spend nearly all of my free time in my studio sketching, studying art, and painting. Each piece begins with a hand-drawn sketch and is finished in oil paint.

I specialize in capturing the beauty of people, pets, and nature in both impressionistic and realistic styles. After many years working in finance, I discovered that painting offered a peaceful creative outlet and a way to reconnect with something deeply personal. My studio has become a place where I can step away from the noise of everyday life and lose myself in the creative process.

Over the past two years, I have completed hundreds of commissioned portraits of pets and people. These custom paintings often become meaningful gifts or treasured memorials honoring the animals and loved ones who hold such special places in our lives. Pet portraits remain one of my greatest passions—something that began with my beloved dog, Princess Pookie Bougie of Pookelia, who first inspired my journey into painting.

In addition to original commissions, I am pleased to offer fine art prints of selected paintings, allowing collectors to bring a piece of my work into their homes in an accessible way. My hope is that each image—whether an original painting or a print—captures a moment of beauty and brings warmth.
